Some numbers for the 968 Cabriolet:
968 Cabriolet (USA, Kanada) from 1991-1995: 2.010
968 Cabriolet ROW from 1991-1995: 1.949

So it's not a very often built car. Was only built for 4 years. Wasn't a success in sales.

More rare are 968CS (1.538) - very popular and high prices over here in Germany. And there a 2 exotics: 968 Turbo S (10 cars) and 968 Turbo RS (3 cars), i've never seen one in person.

Technically the 968 is also a little bit complicated, because of the transaxle concept. The engine is a 3 litre 4-cylinder, but it's really not a simple engine. Maintenance costs are shurely as high as a 986 car. It doesn't have an ISMB problem. But there are other cost intensive things that can hit you in the back - see post of Porsche9.
