This conversation reminded me of the
Phoenix Trotting Park in Goodyear, AZ. The first time I saw it from I-10, I thought it was new construction that had temporarily been halted. It was amazing to learn that it was built in the 1960s, opened in 1965, closed in '66 and has sat unused since then. Beautiful and ugly.
