7" are fine, at least with my Dunlop Star Spec and Sumi HTR ZIII in 225/45-17 
Go to Tirerack and look at the tire specs and you will see that the rim width range is 7"-8" or 8.5" for 225/45
 
I tracked both and no rollover issues
