Wondering if you have the alarm light cover in the centre front of the dash (one of these :
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01/Sensor+Removal1350768881.gif) from a '97? Mine was missing when I got it, I got hold of one from a later model already but it doesn't quite fit right
