I had gone from the stock shifting console to a 997 console. Amazing difference. The upgrade to the Numeric console and cables was night and day. It is not buttery smooth, but more of a solid mechanical fell. Kind of like throwing a bolt of a rifle. Very precise. There are three throw positions and I have it on the longest. It feels half of the OEM throw. I can't imagine what the shortest, or even the middle ones feel like. I did a lot of searching on the various Porsche sites and the prevailing opinion was Numeric got it right with both the sifter and cables. There was an issue with some early units breaking at the top narrowing part of the shift lever but this has been rectified. Numeric also stood behind the issue and made the units right.

This is not a cheap upgrade, but for me it was worth it.
