On the CDR 220, there was an input for the speed sensor. This allowed the unit to adjust the volume based on the speed. I don't know whether the 210 had the same feature or whether it will affect the operation if it is not connected. There may also be connections that affect the illumination of the controls on the unit.

Overall, I'd say this is worth a shot. You may want to consider bench testing it before installation using either a computer power supply or a 12-volt battery for your power source.
