You shouldn't even see 1800rpm, you should be letting the clutch out as you press the gas and it should engage normally without prematurly raising the RPM during the clutch release. It shoudl take off just like a automatic car does, rpm and all. Just go up as you go.

If your reving it then letting out the clutch you need to practice better control of the clutch and modulate it better at lower rpm. This is how a clutch is worn out even with reving it upto 1800 rpm (double idle) and letting the clutch out.
