Agree Sal Zaino is a helluva guy, hope you have the chance to meet him in person sometime - he's a hoot! I've always said that the Zaino Brothers are the automotive equivalent of Ben & Jerry...
WD-40 will work and will flash off without hurting the paint. Personally, I prefer PrepSol and have not found it to adversely affect the finish...
