Yes, you need to go pin by pin, I have never found a short cut. They are not random. What I would do is make a spreadsheet with the connectors, pin number, wire color and function (I also put to/from and signal information). You can then go through the wiring diagrams and fill in the blanks. It really isn't that bad. You might spend an hour or two on it, and then you will have it forever. The hardest part is resigning yourself to do it...
