I'm trying to recall if my car has a single screw type clamp on it (it's a 2000). Maybe one or two.
At first i was not fond of the spring type since you have to hold them expanded while you position them. That is their only flaw. As indicated, they hold uniform pressure during thermal expansion
They have one part, no moving parts - paper clip simple just the way it should be.
