I have this same muffler on my boxster. It's also known as a Che muffler or a Chinese muffler. A guy named Che in Dallas imported them along with sport headers years ago and I was his test subject for dyno runs, etc.

Kinda loud, but the drone between 2-3k rpms with the top up and windows up (when driving in the rain in traffic) is HORRIBLE. I actually get out of my car and feel as if I have lost some of my hearing.

Now on a sunny day with the top down or at the track with a helmet on, this muffler is glorious or magnificent or whatever superlative word you want to insert into this sentence.

It also has a nice burble to it and grunty sound at idle.

Know this going into this purchase.

To answer your question, no, this muffler doesn't need any alterations to your stock cats. Should bolt right on.
