To pass Laguna Seca sound in our Boxster race cars? We regularly use stock head pipes (2.5) with straight pipes into a stock BoxsterS muffler. The stock S muffler is baffled completely differently than the 2.5/2.7 muffler. It weighs a lot less also!!

For not a lot of money? You can easily duplicate the factory "sport". They add an extra tube from the inlet pipe to the exit tips.. essentially bypassing the actual muffler, BUT some of it still goes through the muffler.

Best bang for the buck on a 2.5? Chinese headers, straight pipes and a stock S muffler
