Since they are calendar yr, not model yr., there are probably 4 mos. of the 1997 production that are '98 models. Assuming a reasonably even production rate, the actual number of '97 model year cars is probably somewhere around 16,100 cars.
Maybe someone else can come up with the actual model year numbers.
