Then the Evo motor bikes came out and the hard core riders hated them, even though they are the best and most dependable motor Harley ever built. Most custom built bikes have aftermarket Evo motors. The Twin Cam is the lastest motor and its had its ups and downs, but overall is a good, dependable motor. Of course all the Evo motor riders hate it along with any old timers that are left over.........The point is if you keep your car/bike in good shape it will be considered a classic/collectable vehicle in the future and will be admired. I happen to think that the Boxster will be a true collector/classic car down the road. It may take another 20 years. Back in the 80's you couldnt give away alot of muscle cars. Now I cant believe the prices that they can go for and how desirable they are. Maybe in the future the Boxster will be admired alot like the 356 is today, but the best thing you can do in this time is take care of it, ride it and enjoy it.
And oddly Porsche designed one of the better motors Harley ever bolted to a bike. Anything AMF ever touched turned to ****************, and yet now even those have some collectable value. Sigh.

Agree on the car prices. Muscle cars are off the hook and I like to point out to my kids (for historical purposes) what a piece of crap most of those cars were in terms of fit and finish, paint quality, etc. Aweful. I work with a guy who still owns the first car he ever bought - an early 80s Camaro -and a perfect example of how the were actually done.

References to the movie Johnny Dangerously crack me up. I saw that movie in the theater and thought it was awful, and yet for my entire adult life I've had lines from that movie pop into my head.

Wasn't it the one with the .88 magnum "in case you needed to shoot lengthwise through a school"? Or the guy in the bathroom when it blew up and he was holding the handle from the old school toilet with the overhead tank "I'm holding my dork in my hand".
