First off, I am not an oil expert

IIRC from something I read, the purpose of low viscosity Multi weight oil is that it is thin enough to flow easially when the engine is bone cold. As the engine warms up it acts like thicker oil hence 0-40w. The colder the climate, the thinner the oil that is needed
