Personally I'd go with a good used pump. The fuel filter in mine clogged (integrated into sending unit) and was burning up the new Porsche pumps. Ended up replacing the fuel pump and the sending units with used examples and it's been great since.

But it shouldn't cost $400+ for a new pump. Replacement shouldn't take too long, I think I can do it in an hour now.
