The Porsche convertible top transmission usually fails because of only one gear in the transmission. That gear is made of injection molded plastic that has a shelf life, they dry up and crack after a few years. The consciences is that it is better to replace this gear rather than take a big chance on a used transmission with an old dried up gear. With this new metal gear installed, it may very well out last a brand new transmission. We have made a very high quality metal replacement for this faulty plastic gear and this new metal gear will last. Not one has ever failed. The new gear is $250. for the left or right side or call for a discount for the set of 2 gears.
