Don't be ridiculous, put the top up! No matter what you replace it with, you'll still have to drive around like you're a vampire, but it won't be a Boxster. Around here I drive with the top up most of the time because it's either too cold for a convertible, or if the sun's out in summer, the high altitude makes the sun too intense. I even bought a hard top that I use 7 months of the year. Plenty of people drive Boxsters around with the top up without feeling depressed
