Paint correction is not a very hard do it yourself job. It's nearly impossible to screw up your paint if you're using an orbital polisher and if you take your time $400 will make the car look just painted. And of course you get to keep the tools for the next round. You keep $600 in your pocket for those detailing jobs that really do require an expert hand like paint chips, leather repair, pdr, etc.
Now a days we have YouTube channels like Drive Clean with Larry Kossila to walk any newbie through paint correction step by step. 10-15 years ago most didn't know half these methods even existed or knew where to buy all this stuff.
