Posted this on the Pelican forums and haven't heard anything, so I thought I'd try here...
I'm adding rear speakers to my 2001 Boxster S.
I was able to pick up a used shelf with factory speakers locally, and bought the rear speaker to radio harness from Becker.
Quoting from the Pelican Parts speaker project:
"Insert the white plastic radio harness clip into the rectangular hole in the roll bar cross-brace, and rotate it 90 degrees to lock it into place (Figure 21). This clip will retain the rear end of the radio harness plug."
Here's the picture from the Pelican project:
Basically, the speaker end of the harness has a connector on it that attaches to this clip. My guess is that this clip should make detaching the speakers a snap when removing the rear shelf for access to the engine top cover.
NOTE: The clip I'm looking for is not the clips that hold the rear shelf speaker wiring to the rear shelf (999-651-286-02-OEM).
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks
