To share a story from my ricer days:
While "racing" in Ontario, our group of around 100 cars located at one of the many drag strips were blocked in by a police staged raid to crack down on street racing in the area. In order to leave, your car was smogged, and compared to the DOT regulations. about 45 cars were towed that night due to no catalytic converter, too low because they were "unsafe" by law to be driven on the street. It was ugly....body kits getting ripped of while being dragged up the flat bed tow truck etc.
Luckily for the car I was in we just parked on the side of the street and waited. a couple hours went by and we just got a parking ticket
