No but I know a guy who learned to drive the family car, five speed if memory serves, at the local autocross. Talk about baptism by fire. Back then you could get your license by passing the written test at your high school and then showing up to the DMV to take the road test on a closed lot. In other words you had your license without ever having driven on an actual street! Which explains why you couldn't rent a car until you were out of college for a few years...
