I've been messing around with a non starting Boxster and found the following.

Check for spark, , Jack up the right rear of the car and support car on a jackstand, chock the front tires and engage the parking brake or it may crush you like a bug. Remove right rear tire pull the #3 coil and plug. Double check the car is in neutral with the parking brake set. Ground the threads of plug on the valve cover and have a friend crank the car. You should see bright blue sparks.

Check for Fuel pressure. Jack the left rear of the car and remove the left rear tire. Don't get crushed. Look for a rubber hose running down the left side of the firewall above the plastic under car closeout panel. Disconnect the plastic quick disconnect by pushing the button on it and slowly pushiing it towards the front of the car and pulling it back towards you. Did you get squirted by about 6 onces of gasoline? If so, congratulations, your fuel pump works. Push the quick disconnect back in place to reconnect it. Give it a tug to make sure it snapped home. Oh yeah, it's best to do the gas part outside away from any smoking areas.
