I couldn't give up the convertible, certainly test drive it before deciding. I always wonder why the owner of a heavily modded car is unloading it for a "sweet deal"? Does the street racer lose it's luster over time? I would also worry about engine longevity. Depending on how much cash you're adding, you could just upgrade the Boxster's engine.
