Completed the AOS replacement. The original '97 does have a different AOS version than the new part and the vent line (part #2 above) is required. The O-ring, Part #3, is not required….or I missed something. Paying an extra $2.25 is not an issue, but it did take some time looking at parts and parts diagrams to convince myself that the o-ring was for the vent line and the vent line already has o-rings installed on both ends.

The AOS I replaced was original, nearly 106K miles, and had significant amounts of oil in the vent line….in failure I assume. I did not take the time to clean the manifold….maybe another day.
