I found my own solution

hardest part was finding the right color paint because
the controls are not black. I found that out the hard way by putting some black paint on the underside of the fan switch on the right side that you can see in the photos is very dark compared to the switch.
After much searching I found the switches are a perfect match for FolkArt Acrylic Paint color Licorice 938 for less than $1 from Walmart
using a fine tip artist brush I gently painted the switches and this is the result:
a little globby in areas but no one will notice unless you point it out to them, the photos don't really do it justice, the color match is 100% perfect
2 ounce bottle is enough to do hundreds of porsches, I used less than a drop to paint the controls
I don't know how long the paint will last on there but at this price I wouldn't mind touching them up again in a few months if it does flake off.
