Living in the Pacific North West we too have similar weather. I highly recommend checking the drains bi-weekly. Call me OCD but after having my boxsters "brain box (m53)" that controls almost every aspect of the car, get wet and stand me, its a must!
Also that foam under the carpet is sooooo thick it takes forever to dry it out (if carpet is not removed)
Wet vac it like none other, try to get warm dry air circulating under the carpet, and check those drains! good luck
