And there is the problem, I can sell it as-is dirt cheap at a loss, or make it into something more valuable with some effort, such as parting it out or EV,

Regarding battery degrading, this is almost always because the driver is
accelerating too fast for the battery to handle. It is the gas engine equivalent
of reving a stock engine to 10,000 rpm all the time. It will ruin the engine.
Unless it was designed for it, and most batteries are not designed for such power.
I have a large pack of supercapacitors that was for this car as an EV race car.
They can dump massive power into the motor over and over without wearing out,
so this battery problem does not occur for a fast car. The other solution is like Tesla does, and just have a massive amount of battery, like $50k worth.
