While I have no helpful leads, I will say that I feel for you. Getting ticketed on the way back from a court appearance monumentally blows. I spend alot of time in the OC and I'll agree that cops up there need more to do. I've also noticed a whole rash of new stop-light cameras. Get the V1 already, it's like ideal for Californians!!
I'm still running without a front plate on mine, lord knows the fix-it ticket is inevitable.
