That said, it's not very hard to visually check the IMS bearing's condition if you get the clutch out of the way. You may as well be ready to replace it if you get in there though.... You'll need a special tool to remove an IMSB. I have one if you need it, although international shipping could take awhile. I wouldn't even think about starting the motor til you've checked that that's not the issue.
