Fibreglass is cheap .
The box I'm building is mdf with a fibreglass rear .
The carbon is just the outer couple of skins .

Another way is to make your structure with mdf , then stretch cloth or fleece over it and impregnate with resin . This gives a sculptured look to the front of the box .
