I tried it and it made my 986 non-S sound like a Turkey choking a chicken. I lost about 20 horsepower due to the complete loss of back pressure.

Actually, the correct answer in many cases is yes and yes...I guess it depends on what you buy and if you install it correctly. I'm not an expert on catbacks on the boxster, but they have been good on pretty much every other car I've owned except the ones that weren't required to have cats like my 65 Fastback...

Also, look for the whole "drill a hole in your muffler" thread. Poor man's sound enhancement and it supposedly shaved a second off of someone's 0-60 time, although I seriously doubt the quality of that claim....
