I'm new to Boxsters, and familiarizing myself with the car, but if the bolts are so short, that 3-5mm will not give enough threads, then that would be a first for me to encounter. Going over that amount, you will probably need extended bolts to be safe, but I doubt that's stopped people from going larger, which I don't recommend unless there are enough threads. Depending on the pitch of the threads, you should get at least more than 5 full turns, but I've seen Honda guys run 4. Without our 6 cylinder torque, I would play it safe. Experts: chime in?
