Are both of you aware of the upkeep costs and maintenance to daily drive one of these? It seems based on my short-term ownership that while you can stack the miles on reliably, you will be replacing tires, getting expensive oil changes,etc., and replacing the clutch earlier than a lot of cars. Repairs are big ticket items in a majority of cases. It's a real sports car, and definitely a "real Porsche." It seems like with most German cars, a bit of luck probably holds most of the most weight when evaluating ownership experience long-term. Lots of happy, and some unhappy, owners.

Have you considered a NC (2006+) miata? It's not a porsche, but it's damn fun and you will sleep better at night.
