Yup. With the same result......Internal damage and a need for intensive diagnosis and repair at the shop (car hospital). With all of the parts spread out on the stainless steel table and the comments/observations about the sludge and the damage it caused, it looked like a CSI Boxster autopsy!
I watched the video again to see if he mentioned the year (Double row vs. Single row IMS) and mileage of the stricken Boxster but I don't think he did. The fact that the IMSB didn't fail before the rod bearing still amazes me. GIven all of the sludge present and the dirty condition of the engine, the oil flow through and around the IMSB must have been severely restricted. The only conclusion I can come up with is the IMSB seal must still be intact and the packing lubrication is still in the bearing.
