You asked, so I’ll give you my opinion.
Buy the Boxster.
An air cooled 911 takes a lot of intestinal fortitude to get healthy and keep healthy on the road. You need either great DIY skills or a decent money tree. Both would be ideal. A great classic Porsche, and very rewarding. But for a first time Porsche owner, I’d recommend something newer.
For every $1,000 I spend on the Boxster, I spend $5,000 on the 1997 993 Turbo. That’s the price of admission, and the ride is sweet.
