Just as an update...

My indie mechanic has fixed the car! Main fault code was P1502 with a host of other minor ones. It took him a good week and a half to diagnose the source of the problem and he tinkered with AF ratio. Managed to avoid having to replace the throttle body!

The parts that were actually replaced:
AOS
Throttle jacking sensor
Manifold plenum boots
