Question 1.)
Is a 2001 S 3.2L a 3 or 5 chain engine?

Question 2.)
What special tools will I need to remove the camshafts, and replace lifters so that I can properly re-time the engine?

I have seen kits from SIR Tools, Porsche specific tool numbers, and a few others. I just want to make sure I have all proper tools, so that when the engine is out to do the repair I don't strand myself.

Thanks!
1. A 2001 is a five chain motor.

2. You will need a cam holding tool (so you can remove the cam cover), and cam timing tool (so you can dial the cams back in after replacing the lifters). These tools are not interchangeable.

This entire procedure has been written up multiple times, showing home made replacement tooling for some of the OEM stuff.
