I bought the platinum spark plugs from Pelican along with a new set of spark plug tubes and o-rings. For coolant, I bought OEM coolant form the local Porsche dealer. It was cheaper than Pelican. Surprisingly. Would have been even cheaper if I had of had my PCA card at the time. They just enterd my member number and poof - instant discount on parts and service. Best $45 a year I've ever spent.

For the clutch, I would not skimp. There is nothing worse than having to do the work twice because a used part failed or caused uneven wear and tear.

As for the other parts you may need, well to be honest until you tear it all down, and I mean all the way down, you have no idea what your IMS failure may have done. Some of the pictures I have seen are really bad. Some not so bad at all. If you didn't lose any major parts (no D chunk either) you may be OK. You'll still have a lot of ports to clean though and it'll take a lot of time, but if you can save it, do it.
