Yes, I did. I had CCFLs to begin with, but was not happy with the dead spot. While playing with the tube in order to get the dead spot either on top or bottom, I broke one, so went with LEDs.

LEDs are a bit "spotty" in broad daylight, but more even in low light(overcast, dusk, etc). I'm thinking of adding a white filter to further help distribute the light and eliminate the LED "spots".

Either way has its downsides, but I settled on LEDs.
