Check the condition of the pump that failed. If a lot of the impeller vanes are gone, consider reverse flushing the entire cooling system. The pump pieces can clog the very small cooling passages in the head leading to localized overheating and cracking of the head.

Also consider replacing the motor mount. If the car has any serious mileage, it's probably gone and once you get the motor mount out, replacing the water pump is much easier.
