replacement tops: atd, gahh, robbins

i recently picked up a used 2002 boxster and it needs a new window/top.

i'm planning to get the glass window upgrade, but i'm still confused about a few things on the subject of atd vs. gahh/robbins:

1. atd is now selling a top that has the german A5 cloth, but also an upgraded material that claims to have better acoustic shielding:

does anyone have experience with this product, and is it truly better than the non-acoustic upgrade version or gahh? note that it only seems to come in black.

2. i'm in los angeles. i found was referred to a shop to do the work at a reasonable price, but the guy says he recommends gahh/robbins and has had bad luck with atd products, claiming they don't fit well and that while atd claims to provide full refunds if there are installation problems, in his experience this often becomes problematic (atd claims it's the installer's fault, etc.).

3. other threads on this site claim that atd and gahh are the same product, but different warranty. however, the atd site indicates that there *is* a lifetime warranty on the glass bond, so did something change there?

4. just how difficult is a DIY install on the atd? i'm inclined to just take it in somewhere, but i don't want to take it to a guy who doesn't believe in atd products.

5. finally, since this is a 1st generation 2002, if i get the wire harness for the defroster, where does it go and how much does that complicate the install?
