Yes and according to Porsche, no "discernable" difference in performance...
2002 S shows tested 0-60s ranging from 5.3 to 5.7secs. 2004 550 5.2 to 5.7secs. My 02 makes 85% of max torque by 2000rpm. Low end torque is not the issue with the 3.2s, however some additional top end poke would make the cars feel more Porsche like in my opinion.
