I've had my '01 Boxster S for all of 2 weeks. Paying an independent mechanic to do the following preventative maintainence right now:
LN Engineering ceramic bearing replacement
RMS replacement
160F thermostat
New water pump
New serpentine belt
Coolant system flush
Oil + filter change
Edit: Also new clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing
= $2700
