Repaint a DD?

My boxster is a DD and will remain so, but it had a few dings to begin with and is getting more. Mostly from road chips. After cleaning the car today though, I have noticed a few new scrapes. I'm a bit curious how often people repaint their cars and if they do how they do it. And what it costs too. I did search and the most repainted items is the front/rear panels. No surprise there with a cost of between $250 and $1000 depending on how it was done and where.

If you don't mind, please tale a look at the attached poll and tell me what you think about the options for repainting my boxster. I do have the capability to repaint my car. Could even do the whole car at once if could find a space to rent. Although time & fees might catch up to me and be more of an issue there so it would probably be best to have a professional do it.
