Blue turquoise was a standard color when the Boxster first came out. In fact it was also a color also used on the 911/993 series. It is not a metallic paint. The optional colors were all metallics.

I have the Boxster and Boxster/993 brochures from 1996. Back then the old air coooled 1997 993 was being sold next to the new water cooled 1997 Boxster. Ronzi is correct. There were 5 standard no cost colors back then, including blue turquoise.

I have seen it before in person but I cannot remember on what car.

I do not have time to look at my publications to verify if it was only for model year 1997.
