The idea that an enthusiast doesn't care what others have to say about their favorite car is true with this many folks: 0
and elevating it to being "offended" sounds a little goofy to me. It's more amusing than being akin to someone calling your girlfriend a pig or saying your kid is ugly.
Now that would be offensive!
