As the owner of a 97 with high mileage, I'd recommend you save up and buy one that's a 2000 or younger, 2003 would be my choice. I know they're a lot more money, but if it's going to be a daily driver, you want a dependable car to get to work and you don't want to be fiddling with repairs, right?

Read the links on the bottom of my signature for tips on buying an older box if you haven't done so already. While mine was a shiny wreck on wheels, I did learn a lot of hard lessons you don't need to learn first hand!
