More spark energy isn't needed until you have more chamber filling, more fuel and a higher compression ratio. We have some of our engines that have been built with 14:1 compression ratios; they need more spark energy.

If you haven't increased engine volume, spending money on high power coils and larger injectors won't do much of anything and can lose performance. Thats like the guy that spent 3300 bucks on a muffler that made him LOSE 27HP at the rear wheels on our dyno back to back.

Bigger is seldom better, the crowd that thinks that it is, are always the easiest to beat.
