JAAY, when you say you split the oil filler tube in the engine bay, you mean you destroyed it? Or did you disconnect it? Was that difficult? From the top of the engine bay or below?

Also, I was thinking about pulling out that rubber grommet too. So you essentially did that and just reached in with your angled needle nose? Would this still work if the hose clamps happened to be facing the other way?

I need to replace my tank, and absolutely dreading it from everything I have read about it.
